Editorial Oversight

JLGRS evaluates submissions according to their contribution to law, governance and regulatory scholarship. The editorial team is responsible for fair handling, appropriate review, confidentiality and reasoned decisions.

Editors assess arguments on their scholarly merits. A conclusion is not accepted or rejected because it supports a particular political position, institution, litigant or commercial interest. Authors must nevertheless support claims, address competing interpretations and comply with applicable ethical requirements.

Editors must record material decisions and recuse themselves from conflicted submissions. Board members and publisher-associated authors are subject to the same standards and independent handling as other contributors.

Special issues, if introduced, will have a stated scope and named guest editors. Guest editors must disclose conflicts and follow the journal’s review requirements; final oversight remains with the journal. Invited contributions are not guaranteed acceptance.

Policies should be reviewed when practices change. New policies do not retroactively establish procedures for historical print issues, and any article-specific review exception must be disclosed.
